Alex Iskold Founder & CEO of GetGlue kinda sounds like Ivan Drago from Rocky but, still a very cool guy. GetGlue is a contextual network that connects you with your friends around your interests on the web. Basically, Alex and his team are building programs that are smarter than humans or something?
When asked who the competition is, Alex responded by saying “everybody”. Which, seemed like a spot on answer. It’s true, with all the social networks, micro blogging platforms, blogs, aggregators, etc . competition is everywhere and anywhere.
Alex’s advice for startups:
+ Focus. Focus. Focus. Be narrow
+Make it as simple as possible, and wake up in the morning and make it simpler
+Realize that you don’t know anything!
(I think these are my fav. tips ever!)
Developed by AdaptiveBlue, Glue enables you to connect with your friends on the web around the things you visit online. Glue is powered by semantic recognition technology that automatically identifies books, music, movies, wines, stocks, movie stars, recording artists, and more. Glue works hard to make it easy for you to find out what your friends think about things you’re visiting online.

Sounds like an interesting product, and nice advices.
